When you sign in to a Microsoft or Microsoft 365 account, you can:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Open and save local content stored in the cloud, without navigating away from your local application<\/li><li>View a list of your recently opened cloud content, allowing you to quickly access your most relevant content supported by the Microsoft application<\/li><li>Retrieve this storage location on all of your registered machines when you sign in using the same Microsoft or Microsoft 365 account<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In this way, you can personalize your Microsoft experience by accessing your synced files from all of your registered machines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/help.axcient.com\/en\/image\/15fb80e1c1abcb.png\" alt=\"ms_showcase.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Note<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This feature is supported for version 2013 and higher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Adding The Desktop Client as a Storage Location<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>Before you can begin using this feature, you must add the desktop client as a storage location in your local apps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Open an app on your local machine and click the <strong>Open Other Documents<\/strong> link.<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/help.axcient.com\/en\/image\/15fb80e1c216ad.png\" alt=\"ms_0.png\">The Open section of the backstage area displays, prompting you to open a file.<\/li><li>In the backstage area, click <strong>Add a Place<\/strong>. A list of available storage locations will display on the right-hand side of the backstage area.<\/li><li>Select the desktop client from the list of available storage locations.<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/help.axcient.com\/en\/image\/15fb80e1c2844c.png\" alt=\"ms_02.png\"><\/li><li>You can now open files, edit files, and save new files to the desktop client directly from your Microsoft 365 application.<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/help.axcient.com\/en\/image\/15fb80e1c2fc17.png\" alt=\"ms_03.png\"><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Accessing Cloud Content from Other Instances of your Apps<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have Microsoft products installed on more than one computer, but you have not yet installed the desktop client on each machine, your Microsoft app will prompt you to install the desktop client.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Open an app on your local machine and click the <strong>Account<\/strong> link. The Account section of the backstage area displays, allowing you to manage your account information.<\/li><li>If you have not already signed in to your Microsoft or Microsoft 365 account, click the <strong>Sign In<\/strong> button.<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/help.axcient.com\/en\/image\/15fb80e1c36b0b.png\" alt=\"newms_1.png\"><\/li><li>When you are signed in, you will see a warning message if you do not have the desktop client service installed.<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/help.axcient.com\/en\/image\/15fb80e1c3d446.png\" alt=\"newms_5.png\"><\/li><li>Click the <strong>Repair<\/strong> button. A browser window will open, prompting you to download and install the desktop client. When the desktop client is installed, you can access your synced content from within your local apps.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Removing the Desktop Client as a Storage Location<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Open an app on your local machine and click the <strong>Account<\/strong> link. The Account section of the backstage area displays, prompting you to manage your user information.<\/li><li>In the backstage area, find the desktop client, and click the <strong>Remove<\/strong> link.<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/help.axcient.com\/en\/image\/15fb80e1c434d2.png\" alt=\"ms_13.png\">A dialog box displays, prompting you to confirm your selection.<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/help.axcient.com\/en\/image\/15fb80e1c4a73b.png\" alt=\"ms_14.png\"><\/li><li>Click <strong>Yes<\/strong> to confirm your selection.
